WEBTV, once popular, is now fading thanks to the ever lower prices of a basic PC. For those of you current WEBTV users, here are instructions as to chatting on The Internet. We give the instructions to connect to our chat network, Chatmag.net, you can choose any of the other IRC networks by replacing the proper text.From the WEBTV Homepage
Select CommunitySelect Go To
Enter the following to enter an IRC chat network
Server Address irc.chatmag.net (or irc.undernet.org or whatever IRC network you wish to connect to)
Port Number 7000 (for chatmag.net, usually you would enter 6667)
Channel #help (Chatmag.net's help room, type in the channel name you wish to enter, see our individual Topic Listings for channel names)Select Connect
Most Web Based chat rooms are not accessible via WEBTV. We will be providing a notation within our Topic Listings pages for WEBTV enabled individual sites.
WEBTV was good in theory, however, we strongly advise you to buy a PC, and enjoy The Internet as it is intended.
