The Gorean Unity Spring 2008 Charity Event will benefit Operation Smile, a pediatric medical charity that performs life changing surgery for infants and children suffering from facial birth defects (cleft palate or hare lip).  Since doctors and nurses donate their services, the cost for each surgery is just $245.00. We hope to donate enough money for three children to have surgery during Operation Smile's spring and summer missions.
 
To raise funds, Gorean Unity has launched Gorean Unity auctions on eBay. From now until March 15, we will have weekly auctions featuring apparel, books, CD's, gift cards, jewelry, perfume and other items. Because we have partnered with eBay Giving Works and MissionFish.org, eBay will waive all listing and seller's fees for our charity auctions. One hundred percent of sales will go directly to Operation Smile. Please consider bidding to support this cause. In addition, Gorean Books will donate 10% of every book sold through March 16 to Operation Smile. Gorean Books has over 700 Gor and other books for sale, including rare first editions and copies autographed by John Norman and some of the cover artists. Somewhere in the world tonight, a child is waiting to have surgery.  Waiting because his or her parents are poor or proper surgical care is not available. A Cleft Palate makes it difficult for infants to feed, breathe and thrive. In older children, the condition results in speech impediments, developmental delays and prevents them from eating and drinking normally. They are teased and shunned by their peers.  Together, our Community can change the life of a child forever.
