Attorney General
Mike Cox announced today the arrest of Christopher Twichell of Plymouth
Township, for Child Sexually Abusive Material – Producing and/or Making.
“Preying on Michigan’s children is a heinous crime,” said Cox. “Catching
child pornographers and sexual predators has been an important focus of
my office. We will continue to track down those who seek to harm Michigan’s
children and keep them off both the streets and the internet.”
Michigan State Police investigators arrested Christopher Twichell, 29,
of Plymouth Township, in Plymouth Township on February 17, 2006.
Twichell was arraigned February 17, 2006 in the 35th District Court in
Plymouth, before Judge John McDonald, on 4 counts of Child Sexually Abusive
Material – Producing and/or Making, a 20-year felony.
Judge McDonald set bond at $100,000 cash or surety, and Twichell will be
back in court for a preliminary examination scheduled for March 3, 2006.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed
innocent until and unless proven guilty.
Since its restructuring, Cox's Child and Public Protection Unit has arrested
81 Internet sexual predators. Attorney General Cox encourages parents to
visit www.michigan.gov/ag for tips on safe Internet usage for children.
Citizens can also report suspected Internet child predators via the Report
