What does Billy
Joe Bowser, Melissa Bowser, and Lisa A. Winebrenner have in common?
All have been accused of operating a chat room that distributed child pornography
images, and are facing multiple Federal counts.
U.S. and international
authorities on March 15th. charged at least 30 people who allegedly had
taken part in the Kiddypics & Kiddyvids chat room and "peer-to-peer"
networks.
These were not
people engaged in private chats, pretending to chat to underage people,
but people actively involved in trading photographs of real children.
One syndicated talk show host has called for their public execution, even
though their trials have yet to begin.
From other news
reports, the quality and volume of evidence against these people will ensure
their convictions. This is what is needed in the fight against online
predators, not the amateur bumblings of vigilante groups such as Perverted
Justice, but legitimate law enforcement, with the tools and resources needed
to facilitate the taking down of predators.
I feel no compassion
for the women involved in the sting. How a woman can engage in child
pornography is beyond my understanding.
Whatever the outcome,
I applaud the Justice Department and all International agencies involved
in this operation, and would like to see more stings conducted.
And as for the
people, in particular the women involved, you'll be meeting your new bunkmates
soon, enjoy.
