15 June 2005 Chatmag News.Pinellas-Pasco Medical Examiner Jon Thogmartin released the results of the autopsy performed on the late Terri Schiavo, who died March 31, 2005 after her feeding tubes were disconnected.
According to the autopsy, Terri's brain had shrunk to half the size of the average person. Thogmartin stated, "The brain weighed 615 grams, roughly half of the expected weight of a human brain. ... This damage was irreversible, and no amount of therapy or treatment would have regenerated the massive loss of neurons."
The autopsy report concluded that Terri Schiavo died of dehydration. There were no signs of prior abuse.
