The popular social
networking site, MySpace.com, remains "down for maintenance", for what
seems forever to the millions of MySpace users.
Postings in the
Chatmag 'Blog and other MySpace discussion forums share a common theme,
generally heard primarily from a lynch mob.
Users raise questions
regarding the outage, some suggesting the constructioin of a nuclear power
plant to power up MySpace, after hints of a power outage caused by excessive
heat in the region.
Other users, who
represent small musical groups which utilize MySpace to promote and sell
their music, are at wits end, with their only Internet creative outlet
missing. MySpace had become a popular site for musicians, and other entertainers,
trying to make it into the "big time".
Some comments
suggest that Fortune 500 companies, set to invest Millions of Dollars into
the new "social networking" sites such as MySpace, may now be inclined
to rethink investing into a site which cannot maintain an Internet presence.
Other cottage
Internet industries, suppliers of third party software for MySpace users
also face loss of revenue due to the outages. third party add on providers
offer MySpace users many different kinds of programs designed to enhance
their pages. Some users have reported rather than their usual pages, they
now are left with plain black and white pages.
