Actor Pat Morita Dead at age 73.

Pat Morita, best known for his work on the TV series "Happy Days" and the Karate Kid movies, has died at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada at age 73.

Born in northern California on June 28, 1932, the son of migrant fruit pickers, Morita spent most of his early years in the hospital with spinal tuberculosis. He was later sent to a Japanese-American internment camp in Arizona during World War II.

Morita's family operated a restaurant in Sacramento, where he first performed comedy routines for customers. Later, Morita worked with computers at Aerojet General.

He is survived by his wife and three daughters from a previous marriage.
