10 December 2005 Chatmag News.Comedian Richard Pryor has died, he was 65. Pryor had been in poor health due to Multiple Sclerosis.
Born Franklin Lenox Thomas in Peoria, Illinois, 1 December 1940, Pryor served in the United States Army, and went on to perform in comedy clubs. He offered audiences a version of Bill Cosby, and became disallusioned, spending several years in Berkeley, California.
The Richard Pryor Show debuted in 1977, and after constant battles with censors, closed after five shows. He went on to guest star on various TV programs, finally ending up in films.
